St Joseph's, Cottons win titles
St Joseph’s Indian High School and Bishop Cotton School clinched the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively in the Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar inter-school basketball tournament at the Sree Kanteerava stadium on Thursday.
SJIHS posted a 49-34 win over Cathedral High School in the final, while Bishop Cotton School thumped Mary Immaculate High School 41-26 in thier summit clash.
Stephen of St Joseph’s Indian was adjudged the best player among boys while Kruthi Kiran of Bishop Cotton won the corresponding prize in the girls section.
Ravi (Cathedral High School) was named the most promising player in the boys’ category.
Results (all finals): Boys: St Joseph’s Indian High Scool: 49 (Stephan 17, Ramesh 15) bt Cathedral High School: 34 (Rahul 17, Satish 10). HT: 24-23.
Girls: Bishop Cotton School: 41 (Lopamudra 16, Kruth Kiran 11) bt Mary Immaculate High School: 26 (Krupa 13, Sneha 8). HT: 15-15.
Individual awards: Boys: Best player: Stephen (St Joseph’s Indian High School). Most promising: Ravi (Cathedral High School).
Girls: Best player: Kruthi Kiran (Bishop Cotton Girls’ School). Most promising: Steffi (Mary Immaculate High School).
