This ‘pagalpan’ should end

Yet another Hindi title and yet another tragic hero in a tragedy... Pagal offers nothing new, except perhaps the lead pair. Right from the beginning, the director–also the hero here–seems to suffer from a curious sense of restraint—be it emoting, correct expression or even dialogue delivery. Perhaps the tug of the budget strings was too strong.
Pooja Gandhi does her job in a role with no scope to perform. It is this lack of character development that lets Pagal down. Neither V Mano- har’s soothing music nor Speed Babu’s camera work can salvage a done-to-death plot. Fights are good. The supporting actors do throw up surprises but they come late. Goutam Srivatsa’s background score leaves an impression. Rest is not worth mentioning.
