Reception balm for pain in jail, says MP
Amid all the noisy hustling and bustling at her CIT Colony residence here upon her arrival on Saturday, DMK MP Kanimozhi took a resignedly philosophical view of her Tihar jail life.
“I am very happy to be back home,” Kanimozhi told Deccan Herald in a brief interaction at her home on Saturday.
“It is all about life,” Kanimozhi quipped in a poetic flight, when sought to know from her about the “one thing you learnt in the last six months.”
Later Kanimozhi told the media that the reception accorded to her by the party cadres came as a “balm for the pain I have gone through in the last six months.”
Kanimozhi said she was “grateful” to all her friends and party men and added that the bail release and homecoming was the “first step to prove my innocence and get out of the case legally.”
Colourful banners, billboards and posters featuring Kanimozhi with sky-high praises like, “friend of the poor who has sacrificed for the party,” and “those who patiently bear suffering will eventually rule the world,” dotted the arterial roads from the Chennai airport to her home in the city.
‘Will prove innocence’
Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi has said she will prove her innocence and get out of the 2G case legally, reports DHNS from New Delhi.
“I have to prove my innocence and face the case legally and get out of it. I am confident of doing this,” Kanimozhi, elated to be going back to Chennai told reporters before boarding a flight.
