ONGC, S Railway triumph

ONGC (Dehr-adun) and Southern Railway lifted the men’s and women’s titles respectively in the IOB Platinum Jubilee National Club Volleyball championship here on Saturday.
By virtue of their victory, both the teams have qualified to represent India in the Asian Club Championships to be held in Shanghai, China, from June 18 to 26 next year. ONGC defeated Indian Overseas Bank 25-20, 25-19, 25-20 in the men’s final. Southern Railway women downed Central Railway 25-18, 25-17, 23-25, 25-18 for their fifth win in the round robin league to lift the trophy.
SR tallied 12 points for the title, while Kerala State Electricity Board, with 10 points, finished runners up.
