Last Updated 04 December 2011, 17:02 IST

The awards night will be preceded by the motorsports body’s Annual General Assembly (AGA). Vettel, who won the inaugural Indian GP, will be officially crowned the 2011 Champion at the award ceremony which has been moved to India from the traditional venue in Monaco.

Matteo Bonciani, FIA’s F1 head of communications, on Sunday confirmed that top three drivers Vettel, Button and Webber, will be attending the event. FMSCI President Vicky Chandhok said that the organisers have planned an elaborate event for the esteemed dignitaries. “We want to give them the true taste of India, and hence, we are taking them around Delhi,” said Chandhok over phone.

Meanwhile, Chandhok ad-ded that the Group N+ category should not be around for the next season of the Indian National Rally Championship. “I really don’t think it should be there next year. I think we should have only the Group N and have some tight restrictions on them. That way there will be level-playing field and fun,” said Chandhok.
