Top dogs take a walk
More than 50 pet dogs participated in the Pet-a-thon organised by the Rotary Bangalore IT Corridor here on Sunday.
It was a lead-up event to the upcoming Bengaluru International Midnight Marathon 2011 which will be held on December 10 and 11, 2011 at KPTO, Whitefield.
The Pet-a-thon held at PetsSteppin, a relaxing getaway for pets amidst lush greenery and open spaces set in the heart of the City behind Manipal Hospital, Old Airport Road, was aimed at creating awareness on animal rights and causes.
The event provided a great opportunity for animal lovers to give their pets a day-out, and a chance to socialise with other animals from in and around the City.
The funds generated through the Pet-a-thon was donated to “Let’s live together” a voluntary organisation involved in helping adopt stray dogs.
The event began with a 30-minute socialising between the participants and was followed by talks on pet care, pet health care, grooming and other aspects of pet management by Shobana, owner of Muddy Pawz, a dog grooming salon; Anand, partner Anvis Inc – an integrated pet management company; and Dana Thomas of Wags, which help in pet counselling and Achala who works for ‘Lets live Together’.
An awareness walk then followed where the pet owners took their respective pets for a brief walk.
