‘More cricketers from Mangalore will represent national team in the future, predicts Charu Sharma
“Twenty-twenty Karnataka Premier League is a platform for the gully cricket talents to crete their future,” said cricket commentator Charu Sharma.
Speaking after inaugurating the cricket reality show match between Fiza Groups and Global Associates team at NITK maidan in Surathkal near here, he said there are opportunities for the talents in KPL. He called upon the players to show their talents in university-level and club-level tournaments.
The players should not be disheartened if they are not selected during the season. One can attain success only through talent and effort in cricket.
More cricketers from Mangalore will represent national team in the future, Sharma predicted.
Mangalore United team owner Mohiuddin Bawa said: “Basically I am a cricket fan. I used to feel bad when only kin of sports personnel and influential persons entering the national team. KPL will provide an opportunity for the players in the region to come to the limelight. I will give preference only to talents and not heed to any pressure in the selection procedure,” Bawa assured.
