YSR widow's tirade eclipses no-trust vote
Y S Vijayalakshmi, the widow of former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, on Monday came down heavily on the state government as well as the opposition.
On her first day in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Monday with a Bible in hand, Vijayalakshmi, who represents her husband’s Pulivendula Assembly constituency in Kadapa district, voted against the Congress government in the no confidence motion tabled by the Opposition TDP.
Her scathing comments on the Congress and the TDP embarrassed both the ruling party and opposition legislators as she angrily pointed out how they had all deserted YSR after his death.
“I know how all of you circled around my husband for favours and positions and how you abandoned his mission and his family after his death,” she said, pointing at senior ministers and other party MLAs.
