Honour for City scientist
Dr U K Revankar, former director, Defence Avionics Research Establishment, DRDO, Bangalore has been conferred with the AOC International Achievement Award for his contribution in the field of electronic warfare (EW) by Association of Old Crows (AOC), Virginia, USA.
Dr Revankar, an internationally reputed scientist, is presently the President of AOC India Chapter. He is the first Indian recipient of this prestigious award. He was chosen for his achievements in indigenous development of the state-of-the-art EW systems like Radar Warner Jammer, EW suite for Indian fighter aircraft (LCA-Tejas) and missile approach warning systems.
Dr Revankar pioneered many advanced technological developments like digital receivers, active phased array antenna and ultra wide band stripline applicable to EW scenario. He received the award on the occasion of AOC’s 48th Annual International Symposium and Convention in Washington, DC.
