Tibetans to take out rally today in Mysore
To mark the World Human Rights Day, the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress and Regional Tibetan Women’s Association of Bylakuppe will be organising a peaceful procession in city.
In a press release, Tenzin Wangmo, president, Regional Tibetan Women’s Association, Bylakuppe Tibetan settlement said the day also marked Tibetan spiritual guru Dalai Lama receiving the Nobel peace prize in 1989.
The procession would begin from Town hall after a brief function and address by eminent speakers. The rally will culminate at the deputy commissioner’s office, she said.
On the eve of World Human Rights Day, the Chinese repression and atrocities in Tibet has resulted in 13 Tibetans to immolate themselves, the latest being the suicide of a former monk Tenzin Phuntsok in Chamdo on Dec 1.
The wave of mass protest and peaceful demonstrations are strong and consistent inside Tibet against China’s brutal repression.
The world should demand for an urgent action against such tragedy, she said.
