My MLAs won’t defy whip in bypoll: Sriramulu
Independent MLA B Sriramulu clarified on Saturday that the BJP MLAs supporting him would not violate the party whip and cast their votes against Chief Minister DV Sadananda Gowda in the December 22 bypoll to the Council from the Assembly.
“I will not rejoin the BJP, it is a closed chapter. I will not ask the MLAs to vote for any particular candidate in the Council byelection,” he told a press conference in the city.
He hit back at State BJP President K S Eshwarappa’s statement that he (Sriramulu) did not have the support of 22 MLAs as claimed.
“There are more than 22 MLAs with me. But I will not try to topple the BJP government,” he said.
“None in the BJP likes Eshwarappa. He is a quarrelsome politician,” said the former minister.
“Eshwarappa is behaving like an Opposition leader and wasting the time of the Assembly.”
‘Similar to YSR Congress’
Sriramulu said he was forming a party in the State on the lines of YSR Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
“I will tour all the 224 Assembly constituencies in the State in this regard,” he said.
He said there were no truthful politicians at all, including himself. Similarly, there are no permanent foes in politics, he added.
