TDP alters HQ; hopes for change in fortune
Hoping for a turn around in fortunes, TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu is preparing to make structural changes to the party headquarters, the NTR Bhavan, in the city.
In particular, the change seems to be prompted by the recent CBI raids following the Public Interest Litigation by YSR Congress leader Vijayamma to check Naidu’s wealth, allegedly more than his income earned during his chief ministerial tenure.
On Sunday, telugu actor Balakrishna along with party MP and industrialist Y Satyanarayana (Sujana) Chowdary, Vasthu expert Sidhhanti and NTR Memorial trust CEO N Venkat inspected the changes to be made to NRT Bhavan.
It appears that Balakrishna had suggested the changes to be made, which is expected to produce the change in fortunes Naidu has been hoping for.
Alterations worth Rs 5 crore is expected to be made, including roads to allow Naidu’s convoy of vehicles to enter from the northeast and exit from the southeast. The party had to demolish much of the three-floor building in the northeast section to accommodate the change.
Political observers are now wondering if the changes would let Naidu off the CBI’s hook and allow him to regain power in 2014.
As suggested by the Vasthu expert, the party demolished the existing security booth to construct a new one in front of the NTR Bhavan.
