BJP revokes suspension of MLAs, MPs
Desperate to ensure the victory of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda in the byelection to the Legislative Council, the ruling BJP revoked the suspension of three MLAs from Bellary on Wednesday.
Legislators G Somashekhara Reddy, B Nagendra and H D Suresh Babu as well as MLC Mruthyunjaya Jinaga were suspended for supporting former minister Sriramulu in the Bellary Rural bypoll. Besides, the notices served on BJP MPs J Shantha of Bellary and Sanna Fakirappa of Raichur on November 25, have also been withdrawn.
State BJP President K S Eshwarappa told the mediapersons that the suspension was revoked after receiving ‘satisfactory’ replies to the notices from the BJP members.
With the Congress fielding a candidate against Gowda for the Council bypoll, the BJP has compromised on its stand and revoked the suspension.
