He was speaking after inaugurating a week long “National Integration Camp” organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra, Mangalore in association with National Service Scheme, Mangalore University, Udupi District Administration, Udupi Zilla Panchayath, Udupi District Youth Federation and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial College here on Saturday. Acharya said the fact of diversities should not be the weakness or point of conflict rather it should play major role in creating harmony.
“Youth are the real strength and asset of any developing country and youth in India should be happy for living in a liberalized competitive world in which they are exposed to several opportunities.
They have new dimensions and excellence and any pursuit is received with open arms,” he added.Calling upon youth to mould themselves towards accommodating everyone and everything, Acharya said one should try to be good human being and useful to others. Living together in these sorts of camps will help the youth understand each other and their culture, he added.
As many as four States are taking part in the camp besides Karnataka. The youth groups and cultural troupes from Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamilnadu, Maharastra and Goa are participating in the week long camp.
A colorful procession was held comprising various dance and folk dance tints. “Banjara” dance by a folk troupe from Andhra Pradesh, “Gedi” folk dance by artists from Madhya Pradesh, “Bolla Kata” from Kodagu artists, “Kolata”, “Dollu Kunita”, “Kangilu” were among other major attractions in the procession.
