PWD Minister C M Udasi said that the incomplete Madikeri-Sampaje State Highway will be completed by January 30.

Speaking to reporters, he said the road from Madikeri to Devarakolli is complete. Owing to the negligence of the contractor, there has been delay in the completion of the work. The pending work will commence from January 5 and will be completed by January 30.

The work on 164 roads at the cost of Rs 128 crore will be taken up in the district. A sum of Rs 38 crore has been utilised, he said.

The government has sanctioned development of 175 km road at the cost of Rs 50.12 crore under State Highway Development Project (SHDP). About 1,500 km road would be developed next year and the finance department has okayed the development of 700 km road.
