JD(S) meet ahead of Vemagal ZP bypoll
A JD(S) taluk level meet was organised to discuss about selection of candidate for Vemagal bypoll election. It was decided in the meeting to collect funds from the party workers.
As decided, Rs 3 lakh was collected on the spot. Speaking on the occasion, Muniyappa of Marchenahalli advised the party workers to follow former minister C Byregowda in terms of facing elections.
11 nominations
Totally 11 members have filed nominations for bypoll election to be held for Vemagal Zilla Panchayat on January 10.
JD(S) has fielded three candidates, two nominations have been filed by Congress and BJP has one candidate, whereas five independent candidates will fight for the post.
Vartur faction gives 3
Three members from Vartur Prakash faction have filed nomination on Wednesday for bypoll election to Vemagal Zilla Panchayat. Subbamma of Rajakallahalli, Bhagyamma of Kurubarahalli and Bhagyalakshmi of Vemagal will contest as independent candidates.
They have submitted their nomination to the Election Officer R S Peddappaiah.
Malur TMC
Four nominations have been filed for bypoll election to Malur 5th ward. Two from Congress and one candidate each from JD(S) and BJP will fight for the post of member.
December 31 is the last day to withdraw nominations.
