Suzlon wins 120 MW order from US-based project

New Delhi, Jan 3 (PTI)

Suzlon Wind Energy Corp, the North American subsidiary of Suzlon Group, today said it has bagged a contract for supplying 57 wind turbines for a project in the US.

"Suzlon Wind Energy Corp today announced the sale of 57 units of 2.1 MW wind turbines for a large wind energy project located in western United States," a statement said.

Commissioning of the power plant is scheduled for the last quarter of the calender year 2012, the statement said. According to estimates by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), a (57x2.1)120 MW project could deliver enough green energy to power up to 36,000 homes.

"The US is a very important market for us and this order underscores our strong technology and service offering alongside our robust track record," Chairman and Managing Director, Suzlon Group, Tulsi Tanti said.
