4-day Kannada book fair from today

Bangalore, Jan 4, DHNS:

The Kannada Pustaka Pradhikara (KPP) is organising a Kannada book fair at the Ravindra Kalakshetra on JC Road from January 5 to 8.

A discount of at least 25 per cent will be offered on each book at the book fair. Speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday, President of the Kannada Pustaka Pradhikara Dr Siddalingaiah said as many as 70 publishers from across the State will be taking part in the book fair.

He said the University of Mysore and Kannada University, Hampi will be offering 50 per cent discount on their publications. The fair, with 68 stalls, will be inaugurated by the Commissioner of Kannada and Culture Department, Manu Baligar, at 11 am on January 5.

The KPP will charge each stall Rs 1,000 for the four-day exhibition, in which, only Kannada books and their translation works in other languages will be on sale. An insurance cover of Rs one lakh has been bought for each stall. The exhibition will be open from 10.30 am to 8 pm, except for the inaugural day.
