Help has been pouring in for the family of Deepak Rao who was hacked to death by miscreants at Katipalla on January 3.

Deepak was the sole breadwinner of the family comprising his mother Premalatha and his brother. Following a call given by his friends and later by the BJP leaders to lend a helping hand to Deepak's mother, people have been contributing generously to her account. As on Saturday evening, Premalatha's account has received Rs 31,26,367.

It was a spontaneous call to raise funds for the family. The messages were circulated in social media including Twitter. The BJP DK unit will give Rs 5 lakh to the family while former minister Krishna Palemar has announced Rs 5 lakh to the family. The district administration has also announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the family.
