I’m not quitting, clarifies Acharya

Higher Education Minister V S Acharya on Tuesday denied media reports that he had requested the BJP leadership to relieve him of his ministerial duties because of his ill health.
“I went through a bad phase of health, but I have recovered now. I am discharging my ministerial duties efficiently. I always believed that one should conduct oneself well in public life. After all, these positions are transient,” Acharya said.
A section of the media had reported on Monday that Acharya had sought the BJP leadership to let him step down because of health problems. It is learnt that a senior BJP leader, who does not see eye to eye with Acharya, has been spreading the rumours.
