State government aiming at creating hooch-free villages in Chikkaballapur

Chikkaballapur, Jan 10, DHNS:

State government has banned hooch to boost a healthy life, now it is aiming at making the villages totally free from hooch producation and consumption, said Nanjappa, Inspector of special force of Excise Enforcement and Lottery Prohibition Wing at Reddagollavarahalli in Chikkaballapur On Tuesday.

Students of Chitra Pinakini High School enact a play during a social awareness and public contact programme organised by the Excise Enforcement and Lottery Prohibition Wing at Reddagollavarahalli in Chikkaballapur On Tuesday. Dh PhotoHe was speaking after inaugurating a programme on Social Awareness and Public Contact in Chitra Pinakini High School in the taluk. He urged the  residents to help succeed in this task.

“Special medicines are being prepared to increase nutrition levels of the people and to improve their health condition. Production and consumption of hooch, arrack, illicit liquor, spirit etc has been banned with an aim to keep up the health of the people”, he said.

“Excise Enforcement and Lottery Prohibition Wing  has been successful in making 115 villages under its purview hooch-free. Action has been taken against the persons who produce and sell it. Anyone indulging in unlawful activities have been sentenced to jail term”, he added.

Puttaswamy and Naveen Kumar from Peresandra Primary Health Centre spoke about affects of drinking hooch.

On the occasion, prize was awarded to the girl’s team which won Kabaddi tournament. Students of the school enacted a play depicting affects of liquor.

Head Mistress of the school T Sunitha, Ramachandrappa, GP members Muddunarayanappa, Eshwarappa, Savitha Manjunath and others were present.
