Another crorepati files nomination
The Sukhbir Singh Badal-led ‘crorepati club’ of Punjab saw another politician joining its ranks when BJP-SAD candidate Som Parkash declared that he has assets worth over Rs 2.4 crore while filing his nomination on Tuesday.
In his affidavit to the returning officer, Punjab BJP vice-president Som Parkash, 62, who filed his nomination papers from Phagwara (reserved) seat, stated that he owned
Rs 42,30,191 immovable assets and Rs 2 crore worth immovable property.
His spouse Anita owns
Rs 20,98,607 movable assets while her immovable property is nil.
Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who filed his nomination papers from Jalalabad Assembly seat on Monday, leads the ‘crorepati club’. Sukhbir has assets worth Rs 76.36 crore but does not own a car as per his declaration in the nomination.
He, however, owns a tractor worth Rs 2.68 lakh. Two years ago when he fought the by-polls, he had assets worth Rs 64.05 crore with two tractors in his name.
