MA in International RelationsThe School of Social Sciences at the University of Northampton (UK) has launched its MA in International Relations course and is inviting applications for the same.
The one year full-time MA programme is especially designed for those with an interdisciplinary background who wish to fully comprehend core issues and approaches within International Relations post 9/11. International Relations is a vital and dynamic field of intellectual inquiry that offers an interdisciplinary exploration of human interaction.
The purpose of this new postgraduate programme in International Relations (IR) is to foster within students a global perspective and encourage a multicultural awareness of contemporary problems.
International Relations course provides an opportunity to engage with and adapt to changing international, national and regional realities. It will provide students with an appropriate set of intellectual skills to enable more informed and effective participation in an ‘ever-changing’ global context. The goal is to provide a rigorous and intellectually challenging foundation in approaches to the study and practice of international relations while developing an understanding and sensitivity to key issues in diverse areas of the modern world.
The students willing to apply for the course should possess a first or second class honors degree. The programme commences on September 24, 2012 and candidates are recommended to apply as early as possible. The fee for international students for the session 2012-2013 is £9,500.

Finishing school admissions for teachersBASE, the Bangalore-based organisation providing quality training for competitive examinations has announced opening of admissions for its Finishing School for Teachers (FST) programme starting from February 15, 2012. The FST programme is designed to help improve the capability of teachers in both subject content and also in the softer aspects of teaching. There are separate programmes for school and PU teachers. It is open to young graduates / post-graduates with 0-5 years experience, aspiring to become excellent school / PU teachers and is also open to experienced teachers. The FST programme will be conducted at BASE, Basavanagudi and is available as an intensive 3 months course or a 5 months week-end programme. Placement assistance is provided to all successful candidates of the finishing school programme. Admissions will be based on a selection test and interview. There are limited seats and admissions will be on a first-come-first-served basis.

IIMM’s postgraduate programmesThe Indian Institute of Material Management (IIMM) has announced courses for graduate and post-graduate diploma in Materials Management, Logistics Management, Public Procurement and Certification course in International Trade.
The Graduate Diploma Course in Materials Management (GDMM) is recognised by the government of India for appointment of superior posts and services under the Central Government and is also accredited by the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management (IFPSM). It also conducts a three-year Post Graduate Diploma Course in Materials Management (PGDMM) by correspondence which is recognised by DEC along with Diploma in Logistics Management a one-year distance education programme.
