"We have buried all our differences", says Yeddyurappa

Shimoga (Karnataka), Jan 12, (PTI):

A day after RSS decried the leadership row that engulfed the Karnataka unit of BJP and its government, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa today directed his followers to halt their campaign and desist from expressing any view on the issue publicly.

"I have urged my supporters not to rush to the media to express their opinion on leadership issue," he told reporters here in the backdrop of BJP high command not responding to his supporters campaign for giving him a "position" after he was ousted from chief ministership in July last.

On yesterday's meeting between RSS and top BJP leaders, including himself, Yeddyurappa said: "We have buried all our differences after a detailed discussion with leaders of Sangh Parivar on Wednesday and promised them that we will not allow the party to reach a breaking point due to our differences."

RSS had directed Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Yeddyurappa and state BJP chief K S Eshwarappa to bury their differences on the leadership issue and leave the matter to be decided by the BJP central leadership.

Yeddyurappa said his aim was to strive hard to ensure that BJP retained power in the next assembly election and Congress did not gain from internal bickerings of BJP.

"We will set right all the problems soon and the leadership issue will be decided by our party high command and they will direct us on the course of future action. No one has won or lost on this issue," said Yeddyurappa, who had earlier set January 15 as the deadline for the party to take a call on his demand for a "position".
