Indira Gandhi assassin's son not to contest Punjab poll

Fatehgarh Saheb, Jan 13, (PTI):

Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, son of Beant Singh, one of the two assassins of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, today said he would not contest Punjab Assembly election as he did not have money for it.

Khalsa, who had earlier said he would contest the election from Bassi Pathana reserve constituency as as Independent, told reporters here said that he could not do the same due to lack of financial support.

He had unsuccessfully contested Lok Sabha election in 2007 from Bathinda and Punjab Assembly election from Bhadaur in 2007 from Simranjit Singh Mann's party.
