A rocking cause
FUNDRAISING PERFORMANCE
It was a night to be remembered. Aashray Adhikar Abhiyan (AAA), an NGO that works towards the upliftment of the homeless in Delhi recently organised a musical evening in collaboration with Sura Vie at Connaught Place.
The money acquired through the show will be donated towards saving the homeless from severe cold and providing them with adequate shelter.
Chef and owner of Sura Vie, Sanjeev Kapoor said, “We are delighted to tie up with AAA, to provide support to the homeless.” Manish Tandon, managing director of Sura Vie, added, “We are happy to be associated with such a noble cause and are extremely thrilled that Delhiites are in full support of it. Our goal is to strike a perfect balance between food, music and ambience.”
The evening kicked off with band Half Step Down’s live performance. Since its inception in 2009, the band has performed in various cities across India and won many reality shows on television. Dhaval Mudgal lead vocalist with Abhijit Sood, drummer, Nikhil Malik and Bhanu Mendiratta, on guitars and Carl Abraham on bass guitar set the crowd grooving.
“When we were approached to collaborate with AAA and Sura Vie for the cause, we leaped at it because we didn’t want to miss the opportunity of giving it back to the society. Music is our medium to connect with everyone even if the language is not understood by all,” shared Dhaval after his brilliant performance.
“I am listening to this band for the fourth time and each time I listen to them, I find a new vigour in their performance. I love Dhaval for the energy that he creates during his performance,” said Natasha Suri, a fan of the band.
