Bus Day: 4 new routes introduced

Manish, Mysore, Jan 18, 2012, DHNS:

As demand for buses to Ch’Hill was high, KSRTC has introduced an extra bus

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, city division, has introduced buses on four new routes and added one additional bus, based on the response it received during the last nine Bus Days held in the city.

Apart from the four new routes, it has also introduced nearly 29 buses on three trunk routes — T1, T2 and T3 — from January 1, which provide passengers with the advantage of using direct buses to their destinations. The new bus routes introduced include 11R, 11F, 201/14, 150C and 182C.

New routes
Two new buses on the route 11R begins from J P Nagar and ends at City Bus Stand with stops at Shanidevara Temple, Sterling Theatre, Chamundipuram, Ashoka Circle, Ramaswamy Circle, Dasappa Circle, Railway Station, K R Hospital and Janata Bazaar.

One new bus on the 11F route starts at J P Nagar and follows the 11R route until Railway Station and then turns towards Akashvani, Venkatramana Swamy Temple on KRS Road, PKTB Sanitorium, Ring Road junction and ends at Vikrant Tyres.

As the demand for buses to Chamundi Hill was found to be high, KSRTC has decided to introduce an additional bus from CBS to Chamundi Hill on the 201/14 route. The bus stops at Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens, Jockey quarters and Tavarekatte.

For residents of northern part of the city such as B M Shri Nagar and Bannimantap, one new route has been introduced. Earlier, all buses were heading from Highway Circle passing through Hanumanthnagar and then reaching Balaji theatre.

In order to cater to the demands of response received from residents of B M Shri Nagar, the bus route 150C would start from CBS and end at B M Shri Nagar, passing through Suburban Bus Stand, K R Hospital, Bamboo Bazaar, Highway Circle and head straight to Balaji theatre bus stop.

For residents of Sardar Vallabhai Patel Nagar, which lies on the eastern part of the city, two new buses have been introduced. The buses pass via Alanahalli, Teresian College, Geetha Convent, Nazarbad Police Station, CBS, Ashoka Circle, Akshay Bhandar, Kamakshi Hospital, Sangam Bhandar, Vijayanagar third and fourth stage.

Trunk routes
Trunk routes T1 and T2 both end at L&T beginning from JP Nagar and Ramakrishnanagar. Both buses pass through CBS. As the waiting time has been reduced at CBS, it would lead to an increased number of trips, opined KSRTC divisional controller M N Srinivas.

Another bus T3 is from BEML Nagar to R S Naidu Nagar. It passes through Srirampura Water Tank, Vivekananda Nagar Circle, Kuvempunagar Bus Stand, KG Koppal, Ashoka Circle, Ramaswamy Circle, Lakshmi Talkies, CBS, N R Mohalla and Rajendra Nagar.
