Two arrested for stealing vehicles
Two youths have been arrested for involvement in two cases of vehicle theft and three cases of snatching in outer Delhi, police said on Tuesday.
The police have also recovered a stolen Maruti 800 car, two stolen motorcycles and two snatched mobile phones from the possession of Rajesh Narain, 22, and Vikas Kumar, 21, residents of Shakur Pur.
“Rajesh and Vikas were arrested during an anti-snatching checking at Prashant Vihar on Sunday. They were on a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle,” said B S Jaiswal, deputy commissioner of police (outer Delhi).
They were not able to produce documents related to the ownership of the motorcycle and confessed to police that they had stolen it from Subhash Place. “They also disclosed that, along with an associate, they had committed snatchings on stolen motorcycles. They used to roam around in stolen cars. The motorcycles and cars were then parked in an isolated place for later use,” Jaiswal said.
With the arrests, the police claims to have solved two cases of vehicle theft and three cases of snatching, registered at South Rohini, North Rohini, Subhash Place, Rani Bagh and Jahangir Puri police stations.
The police are also searching to nab the absconding associate.
