Woman was riding pillion on colleague’s bike
A 21-year-old woman was killed in a road accident on Hegganahalli Main Road in Peenya traffic police limits on Tuesday morning. Police have identified the dead as Asha, a resident of Srigandha Kaval and an employee of a garment factory.
According to the police, she was on her way to the factory on her colleague Nagaraj’s two-wheeler. Nagaraj tried to overtake a BMTC bus, but lost control over the vehicle and fell down.
Asha too fell off the vehicle and came under the wheels of the bus. Nagaraj, who sustained minor injuries, in the accident was shifted to a hospital. Asha was a native of Arakalgud in Hassan district.
Plumber dead
A plumber died after he allegedly fell from an apartment on Residency Road on Tuesday evening. Shambhu Reddy, 40, a resident of Adugodi, was repairing a water tap at a flat at Shalimar Service Apartment when he lost balance and fell down. Reddy died due to massive internal injuries, police said.
Man held for murder
Mico-Layout police on Tuesday arrested Sunil, 23, a resident of Balaji Nagar for murdering his step-mother Rajamma over a property dispute on January 14. Another suspect Prasanna Kumar, who allegedly assisted Sunil in the murder is still at large.
During interrogation Sunil confessed to murdering Rajamma over the property dispute, police said.
Sunil and Prasanna Kumar barged into the house of Rajamma on the night of January 14.
They picked a quarrel and Sunil hacked her with a lethal weapon and fled. The murder took place in front of Rajamma’s eight-year-old granddaughter.
Civil engineer ends life
A 21-year-old youth was found hanging at his house in HAL police limits recently. Rajesh, a civil engineer in a private firm, is the dead.
The victim was staying as a paying guest. He hailed from Teerthahalli in Shimoga and was very close to his friend Abhishek. In a death note, the victim stated he could not be a true friend to him.
