Honorary doctorate for Ashwini, Arundhati
Theatre and cine artiste Arundhati Nag along with social worker and Parliamentarian Nagamma Keshavmurthy, sportsperson Ashwini Nachappa and cardiologist Vijaylaxmi Balekundri will be conferred with honourary doctorates at the third convocation of Karnataka State Women’s University.
Addressing mediapersons on Friday, varsity Vice Chancellor Geeta Bali said Governor H R Bhardwaj would preside over the convocation to be held at Kandagal Ranga Mandir at 11 am on January 22. Former governor V S Ramadevi will deliver the convocation address while Higher Education Minister V S Acharya will be present.
As many as 33 graduates will be given gold medals on the occasion. A music programme will be organised as part of the convocation at Rangamandir at 6 pm, the vice chancellor said.
