Bangalore, January 23 2012, DHNS:

Airport police recently arrested an employee of Dell and recovered 565 laptops and Rs 29.98 lakh in cash from him. The arrested, Sriharsha, is a resident of Jayanagar.

According to the police, he was an Inside Sales Manager with Dell.

The company used to give laptops free of cost to NGOs and at concessional rates to some others. Every correspondence had to be made through Sriharsha and the company had vested some powers with him to take decisions.

He allegedly misused his powers, did not supply the laptops to beneficiaries listed by the company and sold them. Based on a complaint, the police arrested him.
