BJP justifies Bhat’s speech

Mangalore, January 25 2012, DHNS:

The provocative speech made by RSS top notch Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has been justified by the BJP.

Calling the raking up of the issue as a political gimmick by the Congress, BJP spokesperson Monappa Bhandary said that Bhat has not said anything derogatory against any religion or person while the issue was being blown out of proportion by Congressmen to gain political mileage in the district just because elections are round the corner. He said that FIR filed against Bhat must be withdrawn immediately.

“Congress members tried to disrupt harmony in Bajpe recently by raking up speed breaker issue.

They at various platforms made derogatory statements against BJP in this connection. Hindu Samajotsav has been held many times earlier in the past but this time Congress clearly had the intention of stopping the programme. Political conspiracy is clearly seen in this episode,” said Bhandary adding that pulling down a leader of Bhat’s stature will be rather impossible for Congress.

Talking about the inaction of the Uppinangady police to initiate action against the minorities who went on rampage, Bhandary said that police remained mute over the entire incident and instead booked FIR against Bhat, despite the fact that no one filed authentic complaint against him for hurting their emotions.

He said that Dakshina Kannada district is a BJP fort and nobody can take it away from BJP. MLC Ganesh Karnik among others were present.
