Amar's 'tell-all' threat to Mulayam
A day after his former boss and Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav attacked him for the first time, Lok Manch president Amar Singh said that he knew many ‘secrets’ of Mulayam and his family and that the latter would be in great trouble if he made them public, though he assured that he would never do so as it was a question of his credibility.
“I have many secrets of Mulayam Singh and his family...they will find themselves in trouble if I revealed them...but I will not do so,” Singh said while addressing a press conference.
Yadav had on Tuesday said that he had helped Singh when he was ill. “The people, whom I helped in the kidney treatment, are now targeting me.....I am not bothered and I will not use the language used by such persons,” Yadav had said in a veiled reference to Amar Singh while addressing an election meeting at Ayodhya in Faizabad district.
On Yadav’s ‘helping him’ remark, he said “Mulayam had gone to Singapore in my plane and also returned by it...that is his help”. He also asked Mulayam to explain from where he paid for the treatment.
Taking a potshot at Yadav, he said that the former did not see beyond his family members and also took the names of Yadav’s family members, who were occupying senior positions in the SP.
Singh also questioned Mulayam’s secular credentials and alleged that he had met an RSS leader and also helped L K Advani in the Babri Masjid demolition case. He also attacked the Bachchan family for trying to improve relations with Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi for a Rajya Sabha berth for Jaya Bachchan.
