` 110 cr development works in Sringeri, says MLA
Developmental work worth Rs 110 crore has been initiated in Sringeri constituency, informed MLA D N Jeevaraj.
He was speaking after inaugurating the completed work and laying foundation stone for developmental work worth Rs 3.5 crore in Seethur Gram Panchayat limits. The programme was held at Sri Durgaparameshwari temple premises at Nagaramakki village.
He said that Rs 20 lakh has been sanctioned for the development of Hemmur road and an additional grant of Rs 40 lakh will be granted under Nabard project. A sum of Rs one crore fund has been sanctioned to Aduvalli Gram Panchayat and grant will be given under CMGSY scheme for upgrading Kolale road. Another Rs 19 crore has been granted for the development of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe colonies in the constituency, Rs 32.50 crore has been sanctioned for developing Balehonnur and Sringeri road and Rs 24.74 crore has been sanctioned for the development of roads including Siddhamutt to Koppa, Chikkagrahara, Kanur and Kuduregundi, said the MLA.
Further, he informed that the government has released Rs 4.94 crore for the implementation of drinking water project. With more funds coming into the constituency it is the responsibility of the villagers to examine the quality of the work that are implemented. In case of low quality work, the officials concerned will be made liable and not the contractors, he warned.
He also informed that concrete roads will be laid in all the residential areas in the town panchayat limits. Rs seven lakh has been distributed to 185 farmers in Seethuru Gram Panchayat limits under Suvarna Bhoomi Scheme. The farmers who have applied afresh will be distributed with the money as soon as the grant reaches the office concerned, he said and requested the political parties to join their hands in the developmental activities keeping aside the political differences.Seethur Gram Panchayat President Rukmini presided over the function.
