Cong vision document targets key voter segments
The Congress on Friday released its “Vision Document 2020” specifying its priorities for the development of Uttar Pradesh focussing on farmers, generation of employment, education, health and industrial growth, while promising to make a “new UP”.
The vision document, released here by union minister Salman Khurshid and state party chief Reeta Bahuguna Joshi, has made a conscious attempt to please all sections of the society. The document was released at different places in the state simultaneously by senior leaders.
It promises to generate 20 lakh jobs in the next five years, revamping polytechnics, a green revolution in the state amd agricultural loan at six per cent.
The document seeks to empower the minorities by providing the socially and economically backward minorities sub-quota in government jobs and educational institutions.
It also promised a fair and balanced Land Acquisition policy and making land losers a full partner in development projects besides promising a special package for the impoverished Bundelkhand region.
The document said that the party would make the office of Lokayukta strong bringing the chief minister under its purview and make disclosures by chief minister and ministers compulsory.
It also promises a Delhi like Metro at Lucknow, Allahabad, Kanpur, Meerut, Varanasi and Agra and connect all the villages by all weather roads.
