Pleasant Sunday for Delhiites

New Delhi, Jan 29,2012, PTI:

Delhiites were greeted with pleasant weather on Sunday morning. It was a clear sky, with wisps of mist and the minimum temperature inched up slightly to 5.3 degrees Celsius.

Met office has said the temperature oscillated between 22 and 4 degrees celsius throughout the day. Monday will also have similar weather conditions.

The minimum temperature for Saturday was 5.1 degrees celsius, which is four degrees higher than the normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature in the last 24 hours was recorded at 21.7 degrees Celsius.

In December, the minimum temperature had come down to 2.9 degrees Celsius on Christmas morning, the lowest of the season. The humidity was recorded between 92 per cent and 44 per cent in the past 24 hours.

In the past 11 years, except for 2010, the month of January had recorded the lowest minimum temperature. On January 8, 2006, the mercury had dipped to 0.2 degree Celsius. The record lowest minimum temperature for the month in Delhi was on January 16, 1935, when the mercury touched minus 0.6 degrees celsius while the highest maximum was 32.5 degrees on January 28, 2004.
