Inter-state gang in net, 6 cases solved

New Delhi, Jan 30,2012, PTI:

Four members of a notorious inter-state gang involved in several cases of bag-lifting in NCR have were arrested on Monday, police said.

“They were arrested near Malviya Nagar Metro station when they came to sell stolen laptops and mobile phones. They were about to commit more crimes,” said DCP (south) Chhaya Sharma.

The arrested persons are R Muggam, 50, Sunder Raj, 49, Bhaskar, 40, and Rajesh, 24 — all residents of Ramji Nagar in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruchirappalli district.

Five laptops, an iPod and seven cellphones were recovered from their possession. With their arrest, six cases of bag-lifting in Delhi and Noida have been solved.

They told police that they used to steal laptops and other expensive items. The gang stayed at a rented house in a resettlement colony.
