Warm host

Viewers tune in because they can relate to her as a friend — one who invites you into the privacy of her TV home to be a part of something special. With episodes that cover women’s issues, relationships, celebrities, current events, social issues and global perspectives, ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ uniquely combines variety, quality and warmth with unprecedented cultural influences. On February 1, catch a Rhodes’ scholar and a convicted murderer on the show.
Anything but romantic
Discovery Channel presents ‘Man Woman Wild’ on February 1 at 7 pm.
Imagine the heated discussions you have at home with your significant other about where to go for dinner.
Now imagine being stranded in the middle of the wild with her with no food,
no water and in most formidable conditions.
In this all new season of ‘Man Woman Wild’, the stakes are higher and the misery compounded as survival expert Hawke and his TV journalist wife Ruth brave raging forest
fires, find their way out from the Amazon’s flooded jungles, face off against
black bears and put their marriage to the ultimate test.
Too much of hard work
The bubbly Delnaz Irani has been shooting despite being down with fever. Delnaz, who plays the cute foodie friend of Mona Singh in the new show Kyaa Hua Tera Vaada, is working very hard on her role.
Since she is making a comeback after a long time on TV, she is leaving no stone unturned and giving her 100 per cent to the role. But it looks like her hectic schedule and dedication has taken a toll on her health.
Delnaz has not been keeping well and was down with fever even before the show was launched.
But instead of taking leave, she was headstrong with her sincerity and went for shooting without any complaints.
Truly professional we must say!
Donning the director’s hat
Producers Sachin Parekar of Amol Production and Kaushal Pravin Thakkar of Shree Saibaba Entertainment have signed the noted TV actress Mrinal Kulkarni to direct their ambitious Marathi film Prem Mhanje Prem Mhanje Prem Aste.
The film, according to Mrinal, is a mature love story. The actress will star in the film too along with another top actress and a top actor. It is all set to go on the floors in March 2012.
In the world of food
ATLC presents ‘Glutton For Punishment’ on February 1 at 10 pm. If you believe food is one of the best things in your life, especially copious amounts of it, this programme is for you. In this wonderful new season, food adventurer Bob Blumer is going for the jackpot — trying to break the Guinness Book of World Records.
Tune in if you are ready for the challenges but be warned it’s no mean task — whether it’s breaking 2000 eggs in one hour or making over a hundred Caesar salads in the same amount of time. You will be at the edge of your seat as Bob tries to peel over 50 pounds of onions in just three minutes. Can he rise up to the tasks?
