Residents of Lakshmipur in the taluk staged a protest by locking up the gram panchayat office, demanding drinking water supply and seeking maintenance of sanitation in the taluk on Monday.

Residents staged a protest by locking up the office, even when PDO, GP president and members were inside. The protest was withdrawn only after the PDO promised to solve the problems in preference and gave it in writing.

Gram Panchayat members N Venkatesh, Adireddy, Narayanaswamy, Parvathamma and among residents Devareddypalli Narayanaswamy, Ramachandrappa, Afzar Pasha, Zameer Pasha and others were present.
