Orders on admissibility of complaint against Adv Gen on Feb14

Bangalore, Feb1, (PTI):

A Lokayukta Court on Wednesday posted to February 14 its orders on the admissibility of a plea filed against state Advocate General B V Acharya and four others for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of funds of a well-known education trust, of which they are the trustees.

In his private complaint filed on January 24, N Vekateshaiah, a nonagenarian, had charged that Acharya and four others were involved in illegal financial transactions in the B Sreenivasaih Memorial Educational Trust.

The others are: H U Talwar, B S Ragini Narayana, P Dayananda Pai and Vijay Gore.
When senior counsel Tomy Sebastian representing Venkateshaiah sought time to submit certified copies of certain documents, Lokayukta court judge, N K Sudhindra Rao posted the complaint to Feb14 for orders on its admissibility.

Earlier, to the Judge's query "in what capacity do you claim the trustees to be public servants", the counsel said they were trustees of a public charitable trust aided by government.

The complainant had sought investigation into the illegal transactions and suitable action to be initiated accordingly under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code besides questioning Acharya holding two posts, one as the Advocate General and second as the trustee.
