‘Soul Cages’
Savitha Sastry’s latest production will be presented on February 11, 7 pm at Chowdiah Memorial Hall. Savitha is a leading exponent of bharatanatyam while the ‘Soul Cages’ is an artistic experience that captures the cycles of life and death as a journey, rather than an end in itself.

‘Santheyolagondu...’
The Kannada play, Santheyolagondu Maneya Maadi, will be staged at Ranga Shankara on February 3, 7.30 pm. The cast includes Harikrishna, N Mangala, Vijay, Raghavendra, Santhosh and Siddaraju. The play is written, directed and designed by M C Anand.

About 40 hearing impaired artistes from different states will perform and compete in Stage Magic, Comedy Magic, Illusion Magic and Micro Magic to win the Championship trophy.

Kynkyny Art is hosting ‘Travelling Doors’, a solo show featuring young artist Santhana Krishnan this month. His mixed-media pieces take a nostalgic, vicarious and heartwarming trip down the enchanting bylanes of the temple town, Kumbakonam, where the artist grew up, studied art and fell in love with the idea of doors. The exhibition is on at Kynkyny Gallery till February 9.
Fine strokes
Crimson is hosting an exhibition by artist S G Vasudev from February 8 to 29. This exhibition will showcase his tapestries, paintings and drawings.
‘Traffic Masala’
An exhibition, Traffic Masala by Christian Engelmann, will be held at 1, Shanti Road Studio/Gallery, Shanthi Nagar, from February 2 to 5. The exhibition will open on February 2, 7 pm. Christian Engelmann is the Goethe-Institut’s artist-in-residence, living and working at 1, Shanti Road Studio/Gallery. The Majolly Music Trust will be celebrating its first anniversary with a gala concert on February 11, 7 pm at Alliance Francaise. ‘Sur Prabhat’
‘Rajguru Smruti’ is holding the thirteenth edition of its annual early morning Hindustani classical music concert, Sur Prabhat, on February 5 at Chitrakala Parishat. The performing artiste is Ruchira Kedar (vocal), who will be accompanied by Gurumurthy Vaidya on tabla and Ravindra Katoti on harmonium. The concert begins at 7 am.

‘Aadi Anant’
Citi India, jointly with The National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), is organising an innovative festival of Indian music called ‘Citi-NCPA Aadi Anant: From Here to Eternity’ on February 10 at Chowdiah Memorial Hall. It will feature two back-to-back performances by celebrated Indian musicians on the same day. Kaushiki Chakrabarty Desikan’s (vocal solo) performance will be followed by a Talavadya Kacheri. Anindo Chatterji will be on tabla, Kaaraikkudi Mani will be on mridangam, V Suresh will be on ghatam and N Amrith on kanjira.
Rap away
Gangis Khan aka ‘Camoflauge’ will perform on February 4, 7 pm at ‘Pebble - The Jungle Lounge’. The hip-hop/rap artiste is from Mumbai but resides in Toronto.
Gangis began recording material at an incredible rate, pouring emotions and experiences into every song he made.
