Three held for theft
Police arrested a thief and a couple who helped him commit the crime.
Mallikarjun, 22, a resident of JP Nagar 6th Phase, Suryanarayan Heggade, 47, and his wife Netravati, 38, of JP Nagar 5th Phase have been taken into custody.
According to police, the threesome had committed thefts at Talaghattapura, Bannerghatta, Ramanagar district, Hulimavu and a few other areas in the Bangalore Rural district. A special police team constituted to investigate the thefts, arrested Mallikarjun on a tip-off and seized jewellery, electronic gadgets and two bikes - all valued at Rs 19.50 lakh.
Mallikarjun told the police that Heggade and Netravati helped him by lending their car to him to commit thefts and transport the stolen properties.
Youth found dead
A 25-year-old youth was found dead in his room in the Madivala police limits on Thursday night. Satish, a native of Tamil Nadu and resident of Maruthinagar in the City, was working as a supervisor at a cloth showroom in Jayanagar.
The reason for Satish taking the extreme step is not known. Ravi had used a belt to hang himself from the ceiling fan, police said.
