Arnie can't see the Taj

Agra, Feb 4, 2012, (IANS)

Visiting the Taj Mahal always tops the must-do list of any international celebrity arriving in India, and Arnold Schwarzenegger was no exception either. But the simple wish proved to be a mission impossible for actor as the monument to love was closed for the day.

The Hollywood star paid a brief visit to the Taj Mahal Friday afternoon but had to enjoy the beauty of 17th century marble marvel from the external periphery as the Taj is closed on Fridays.

He first went to Dussehra Ghat to have a closer view of the monument. Later, he was taken to Mehtab Bagh across the river for a rear view of the monument.

Guides accompanying the Hollywood action hero on his visit here told reporters that Schwarzenegger would visit Agra again and even consider taking a shot of the Taj Mahal in his future films.

The actor was in Delhi to participate in the 12th Delhi Sustainable Development Summit Thursday, after which he went to Agra.
