Carpenter murdered
A footwear vendor allegedly bludgeoned his carpenter-friend Friday night and surrendered before the Cottonpet police on Saturday.
According to police, the victim, Mujaheed, 18, was working with his uncle Abdul Majeed. He and his friend Fairoz, 27, a resident of Chaluwadipalya on TCM Royan Road, had fallen out with each other a few months ago.
Fairoz went to Mujaheed’s house at Old Pension Mohalla on Friday night. The two consumed liquor and Fairoz took him inside the compound of a nearby veterinary hospital and strangulated him. Later, he bludgeoned Mujaheed to death and fled, the police said.
The locals noticed the body the next morning and alerted the police. A few hours later, Fairoz came to the police station and surrendered, said the police.
