A feather in his cap 
Ace director A R Murugadoss recently shot for a commercial with actor model-turned-actor Ganesh Venkatraman.
Sources say that the director, who was pleased with the actor’s performances in his earlier films like Unnai Pol Oruvan and Abhiyum Naanum, personally chose Ganesh to play a significant role in the ad which revolves around the relationship between a father and a son.
In the ad, Ganesh plays the son of a humble potter, who goes on to become a collector and makes his father proud.
When contacted, Ganesh said, “Yes it was a wonderful experience working with Murugadoss sir. He is extremely down-to-earth and chilled out. We chatted up on a lot of things during shooting. He had seen the trailer of my upcoming film Panithuli and complimented me about it. He liked the action stunts that I have done and keenly asked me how I had performed them. He was surprised to know that I am well-versed with martial arts.”
The actor added, “He told me about the extensive research that had gone into the making of 7 Aum Arivu. I complimented him on its success and wished him for his upcoming venture with Vijay.” Ganesh is happy that 2012 has started on such a good note.
Working with an ace director like Murugadoss is definitely an achievement for this handsome actor. Panithuli is expected to hit theatres soon.
Shahid has a diverse view
While Bipasha Basu has been raving about her latest song Bipasha from the film Jodi Breakers, actor Shahid Kapoor, once rumoured to be dating her, says he fails to understand the logic behind having songs named after actors.
Personally, he says he would be uncomfortable with it. “It’s very personal. I would be embarrassed by it but I am sure a lot of people will like it. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. I think in films, we play different characters. So how could you have songs on your own name is beyond my logic,” the 30-year-old said at an event recently. Shahid has just wrapped up shooting for Kunal Kohli’s next opposite Priyanka Chopra.
