People's Problem
No bus connectivity
Upkar Residency Layout, located near Vishweshwaraiah Layout and new RTO office is well-developed, but there is no bus connectivity to this layout from Mysore Road or Ring Road.
We have to depend on the buses that go to Ullal Upanagara, which is 1.5 km away from this layout. If these existing buses to Ullal Upanagara give a stop near the lake, it would be very helpful as it is the nearest point to this layout. I wrote to the BMTC regarding this and also got a prompt acknowledgement, but no action has been taken so far.

A threat to passenger safety
BMTC claims that ‘to maximise passenger comfort is its guiding philosophy.’ Constructing multi-storey TTMC buildings and acquiring hi-tech buses alone do not ensure passenger comfort and safety.
Of late, the number of buses without conductors is increasing in the City. It seems the BMTC has given no thought to the safety and comfort of passengers travelling in such buses.
Firstly, how safe is it to let the driver drive the bus holding wads of tickets in his left hand and a pen between two fingers of his right hand?
If not wearing a helmet is an offence, how is the traffic police turning a blind eye to such blatant violation of traffic rules involving safety of dozens of passengers?
Secondly, the already narrow space near the driver gets crowded by passengers alighting and those boarding and waiting for tickets, causing a lot of inconvenience.
Thirdly, the time taken for the journey by buses without conductors is about one-and-half times higher compared to buses with conductors.
Such buses are a retrograde step in a fast growing City like Bangalore. BMTC do well to put an end to this aberration in the interests of passenger safety and comfort.

Street dog menace
The street dog menace in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar, CV Raman Nagar post, has increased manifold.
Many incidents of dog bites have occurred near Shiva temple, where stray dogs gather near the garbage dump right in front of temple.
It has become especially difficult for motorcyclists during the night. Can the authorities concerned take some action is this regard?

Provide basic amenities
The residents of Kadabagere and Janapriya Apartments on Magadi Main Road are deprived of basic amenities.
No development work has been taken up in the last five years. This area comes under Machohalli Gram Panchayat in Bangalore North taluk.
The panchayat is only interested in collecting taxes from house owners and is not paying any attention to development. In our view, development work such as parks and playgrounds for children and senior citizens, streetlights and asphalted roads can be provided only if Kadabagere comes under the BBMP.

Irresponsible BBMP, BWSSB
This is a very good example of the callousness, insensitivity, irresponsibility and total misuse of tax-payers money demonstrated by the BBMP and BWSSB.
Exactly two months back, the roads in Judicial Layout near Yelahanka were asphalted after several years by spending nearly Rs two crore. Today, they are happily digging these asphalted roads to lay sewage pipes.
If they had any common sense, this work could have been undertaken before asphalting the road.
We are utterly dismayed by the functioning of the BBMP, the BWSSB and their irresponsible officials. I hope those responsible will be punished severely.
