Music lovers of Delhi got a taste of an unusual style of electronic music

Hands on: Oliver Huntemann at his performance. It was a night to remember for all music lovers when German techno wiz Oliver Huntemann gave his debut performance in Delhi recently. Oliver literally breathed life into music by shifting cubes of the electronic music instrument called ‘Reactable Live’. The show represented the future of electronic music the world over and Delhiites witnessed this unique blend of art with sound and visual effects.

The event that was held at Sura Vie had guests sampling a delectable food and beverage menu.

Oliver is a German electronic music producer and an international DJ. He has played a significant part in shaping the genre through his numerous productions and remixes for some of the biggest names in electronic music such as Depeche Mode, Underworld, Chemical Brothers and a successful collaboration with Dubfire (Deep Dish).

On this occasion, Manish Tandon, co-owner of the lounge said, “People who have passion for electronic music and warm beats are all here to experience this eclectic and mesmerising show. We are the first such lounge which has brought electronic music to Delhi’s nightlife. This place is going to change the cultural landscape of Delhi by bringing in cool DJs and acts.”

About his first performance in India, Oliver said, “I’m very excited because this was my first performance in India. This was the first time that someone performed with ‘Reactable Live’ which made the event more exciting. I received outstanding response from the Indian audience.”

‘Reactable Live’ was conceived as an instrument to bring back the possibilities of traditional instruments to musicians who are working with new technologies. It uses concepts of modular synthesis, sampling, advanced digital effects processing, DJing and combines them with modern human computer interaction, multitouch technology and a tangible interface. ‘Reactable Live’ is a completely new experience in live music performance.

Oliver played music of his own style which varied between techhouse and techno and made the music lovers gaga over his fantastic presentation of electronic music.
