Commercial tax collection to exceed target in Karnataka: CM
Commercial tax collection in Karnataka grew by 22 per cent in the April-January period and the target is expected to be exceeded by Rs 500 crore to Rs 600 crore for the current fiscal, Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda said today.
In his response during question hour in the Assembly, he said the commercial taxes collection grew by nine per cent in 2009-10 and 22.57 per cent in 2010-11 and so far in the current fiscal, the figure was 22 per cent.
The number of commercial tax evasion cases have come down following following facilitation of payment electronically which is expected to exceed the Rs 26,700 crore target for the fiscal by Rs 500-Rs 600 crore, he said.
