Fascinating culture on display
‘Mayurika’
Mayurika, the two-day inter-collegiate arts and cultural fest of St Claret College, Jalahalli was inaugurated by acclaimed theatre and film personality Prakah Bare recently in the presence of Principal Father Thomas Thennady, Guest of honour Father Benny Mathew and many others.
Thirteen colleges competed for the coveted championship.
Many interesting on-stage events, such as adaptune, mime, Indian and Western dances were held. There were also many off-stage events like creative writing, poetry writing, tattoo designing, face-painting etc.
The grand fashion show with a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the winner attracted many competitors. Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College, Malleswaram emerged the winners of the fashion show for the elegant presentation of the traditional bridal costumes of India. The overall championship was won by M S Ramaiah College.
