New postgraduate programmes
The School of Interdisciplinary Studies (Dumfries Campus) is offering MSc in Environmental Science, Technology and Society (E-STS). Environmental concerns have become urgent in the past decade. This unique degree focuses on the growing realisation by scholars and authorities, that environmental actions will require the melding of scientific, technological and social judgements. The MSc in Environmental Science, Technology and Society (E-STS) combines these perspectives to equip students for the complex decision-making required for twenty-first century issues. Eligibility
The interdisciplinary character of the degree will allow entry by students having a good first degree in Science, Technology, Sociology or History, and preferably with an interest in extending interests beyond their first discipline. The breadth of course offerings within the degree programme — part of a suite of postgraduate environmental programmes — will allow students to tailor the degree to their interests.
Careers
The MSc E-STS programme will prepare its students for a wide variety of careers related to environmental management, policy-making, governance and engineering problem-solving.

MLitt Environment, Culture and Communication
The School of Interdisciplinary Studies is also offering MLitt in Environment, Culture and Communication.
Eligibility
The interdisciplinary nature of the degree will permit entry by students who have a good first degree in a Humanities subject, but who have wider interests beyond those of their first degree.
The wide range of courses and electives offered on this programme enables students to tailor the course to suit their own interests and preferences.

Careers
The programme is designed to prepare its students for a wide variety of careers in arts and culture, media and journalism, advertising and consultancy or further academic work at PhD level.
